Laurie Lewis' second album is a diverse crowd-pleaser that features some of her very best songs. Lewis exposes a certain naiveté in her self-penned song notes, but perhaps most revealing are her comments on the title track, which are almost absurdly modest. In truth, "Love Chooses You" is a gorgeous song that by all rights should enjoy a long life as a folk classic. In general, this plays like a live concert and covers an astonishing number of styles, with "Old Friend" and "Texas Bluebonnets" being the other high spots. ~ Jim Smith, All Music Guide
