abewernick, best is a matter of opinion. For instance in my opinion Jimi Hendrix was the only one to truly understand the quintessenti a l meaning of the guitar. To me, he was the only musician to actually put feeling into his music. For hours he would daydream about music so complex that even he could not put it to the strings. To call someone uneducated for their opinion is ignorant and proves you
joloseb, it's b-side on the "immigrant song" single, and it's also on the 4-disc zeppelin box set (it's tan/brown w/ crop circles on the cover). one of my favorites. i wouldn't say it's the best zepp ever did, but it's damn good!
Whatever, splitting hairs. I think it is one of my top 10 Zep tunes - that's a hard list to crack - and I still have the 45 lp in the sleeve w/ "immigrant song" as the "hit" side. Fantastic song. Builds and builds. Mr. Page, the master of layering tracks, and John Paul Jones, the most underrated bassists ever? He cooks throughout the entire tune. W/O JPJ, there is no Zep.
It was released on 1970. I too got excited thinking it was a new song. It was released as side B of the Immigrant Song single. It is the only non-album song released in a single in the band's existence.
