On her debut album Sun, Lisa Hayes establishes herself as an inheritor to the tradition of impassioned mainstream rock & roll. For all the take of "women in rock" in the '90s, very few female singer-songwriters followed a path of straightahead rock, so it's refreshing to hear Hayes take the route so late in the decade. At times, she is a bit unfocused, but overall, her passion and skillful songwriting makes Sun a promising debut. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, All Music Guide
