This erratic disc has enough strong moments to justify its existence. Lost Tribe, a quintet with the two guitars of David Gilmore and Adam Rogers in addition to altoist David Binney, sometimes comes across like the M-Base crew with crowded funk lines and group improvising. Unfortunately a bit of space is wasted with juvenile sound effects, aimless electronics and, on "Letter to the Editor," a virtually inaudible rap.
