Deeper & Harder, Vol. 2
About This Album
If you look closely at the cover you'll notice Deeper & Harder, Vol. 2 is arguably more of a DJ Moody release than a Louie DeVito one, but fans of the latter won't be disappointed. DeVito is there for the track selection and programming, and while DJ Moody handles the actual mixing, he's in line with DeVito's mainstream, crowd-pleasing style. Most of the tracks are vocal, many of them big anthems. The campy "What a Feeling (Theme from Flashdance)" ends a very outgoing, very pop set of tracks and gives way to the more tribal middle portion of the mix. Quirky, electro-leaning numbers and then some wailing diva material ends the set, and looking back, the listener can't help but appreciate how smoothly Moody covered all these bases. ~ David Jeffries, All Music Guide
