About This Album
Heavy retro swing with a generous of jump blues is the thing that drives this band's brand of tribal love vibe. While everything's in a strong swing mode ("Rockin' at the Doghouse," "Wrong Lake to Catch a Fish," "Lock You Up," "Forget About It," "Who Got Your Mama?"), the band still displays musical room to honor more modern influences on the soulful ballad "Something's Wrong" and bluesy ones on "You Don't Care" and "Gotta Have a Little Lovin'." Declaring that "this ain't just another retro baggy suit-wearing jive daddy outfit," the Love Dogs come to the table with a solid selection of tunes and a real honest-to-God flair for making them come to life. ~ Cub Koda, All Music Guide
