Be My God
About This Album
Lullacry's debut album openly displays the Finnish quintet's commitment to middle-1980s pop-metal. The 11 tracks of slick, unthreatening rock that make up Be My God owe as much to Lita Ford as they do to Dokken -- lead singer Tanya's "scorned lover" persona follows in a tradition that began with Pat Benatar and continued through Patty Smyth's Scandal, but ended with the far more potent post-feminist stance of the riot grrrls in the early '90s. The guitars are de-tuned for a touch of modern metal crunch, but otherwise this is pretty light stuff. ~ Andy Hinds, All Music Guide
