Manufactured dance music occasionally hints at something grander, but most of this first album from a pretty forgettable singer never quite clicks. "Gotta Know (Your Name)" was a hit, and it's the best thing about Sugar Time. The rest falls into a motorized pattern of dull, monochromatic beats. ~ Michael Gallucci, All Music Guide
