Very cynical review considering how well this album has done thus far.
I can respect if you have a different taste in music, or like the style of Mariah's earlier albums more but I urge you, please try to be more objective in your reviews. Mariah has always been able to capture her audience's attention by following the trends of the day, this should be celebrated as exceptional talent, skill and good musical sense, not criticize and critiqued as "permanently transient." |

I find this review a little skewed to say the least. E=MC2 isn't my favorite album by a long shot; it's also wildly dissimilar to Emancipation of MiMi, an album that's anchored by mid-tempo jams with a few ballads and fewer dance cuts. Emancipation contained a lot of throwback R&B with flourishes of hip-hop, while E=MC2 is painfully modern. A replica? I think not. Interesting that she's being taken to task for addressing her divorce now, when she hasn't brought it up since it happened
