The Best Of Michael Henderson
About This Album
Often overshadowed by his production and guest work, Michael Henderson's solo performances never fully received due credit. That's not entirely a bad thing, either, as some of his solo work is less than stellar and doesn't exactly present some of his finest moments. Which is why this particular best-of leans heavily on his contributions to Norman Connors' recordings, as well as duet work with the legendary Philly soul divas Phyllis Hyman and Jean Carn. While this is no means a definitive look at Henderson's career (dedicated fans should seek Sequel's 1998 greatest-hits release for that), this is a very thorough survey that will please the casual fan. ~ Rob Theakston, All Music Guide
