Tracks drawn from a 1962 recording of McDowell playing in his Como, Mississippi house. The recordings were initially made purely as a document of a performer and a style, but eventually found their way to record and, finally, to compact disc. Somewhat raw, though the sound is actually very good, the recordings caught McDowell at his best, playing just for his own satisfaction. ~ Steven McDonald, All Music Guide
