When I heard the opening notes of Dire Straits' Romeo and Juliet, I was eager to see what the talented Mr. Montgomery could do with this beautiful and expressive love song. What he did, however, was to drive it into the ground with a pretentious display of guitar practice exercises, before pissing all over it with his schlocky vocal stylings. What a staggering show of disrespect for a classic, understated love song.
