About This Album
Guitar shredder Paul Gilbert's third solo offering, Beehive Live, is a concert recording done in Tokyo and features selections from the Gilbert studio solo albums King of Clubs and Flying Dog. Gilbert also revisits Mr. Big's number one hit "To Be With You" and covers ELP's chops-fest "Karn Evil 9" and, for humorous contrast, the Osmonds' "Hold Her Tight." It won't win Gilbert any new converts, given the late '90s musical landscape, but it will appeal to his current fan base. ~ Steve Huey, All Music Guide
