Alternative Press described A Lifetime Away as "the best thing Bjork hasn't recorded since Human Behavior," a serviceable, if slightly off-base, encapsulation of the record's sound. For the most part, the group lays out dark, trippy beats and ephemeral vocal constructions with the haunting art-rock quality of Dead Can Dance, and while this isn't completely brilliant, it's wonderful listening. ~ Nitsuh Abebe, All Music Guide
