About This Album
Amid the noisy feedback, distortion, and tape loops found on Plasticized, Pink Noise Test is primarily interested in writing pop songs. The most obvious evidence is the clamoring "As Pretty Does," which breaks out into a Beach Boys-influenced a cappella. The punk side of Pink Noise Test's spectrum is in full swing with the charging "All the Same to Me" and "Spitting Rain." The star of the show, however, is Kirk Hellie's guitar. The experimental effects produce squawking swirls of white noise and broken found-sounds. The pieces all come together for album closer "Kaleidoscope," a 12-minute trip that's slow just like honey. ~ Kenyon Hopkin, All Music Guide
