Fess is the greatest. If you just stumbled on to this go buy the 2 disc Rhino Best Of Professor Longhair. He penned all the great Mardi Gras songs, Big Chief, Mardi Gras in New Orleans. His Rhumba Boogie style influenced alot of great players. I think Elvis ripped off some of his song stylings while listening to the black radio stations down in Tupelo as a youngun. If you like New Orleans piano you might want to pick up some James Booker, too. Junko Partner is the definitive album.
