I really like Consequence of Sounds, but I love Lacrimosa. However, Lounge and Lullaby are two of my absolute favorites. The lyrics make almost no sense in some places and yet even then they seem to capture feeling I could never hope to express. The hauntingly melancholy music always gets to me.

This is a CD for those who like Regina Spektor. If you have any of her albums and are craving for something more, definitely get this CD, although it can be hard to find. For those of you who don't know Regina, buy 11:11 and Soviet Kitsch. If you like those you will love this! Lounge, Lacrimosa and Lulliby are spectacular, and Reading Time With Pickle/Conse q u e n c e of Sounds are great too.

p.s. She is amazing in concert.

i stumbled upon her last year when i was sick. and because i was home alone, i was able to turn up the speakers as loud as i wanted to. and thats how i think everyone should listen to her! i loved being able to go anywhere in my house and hear her voice echoing off the walls. and the Gibberish is honestly what got me hooked. iwanted to understand her everything. i am not at all musically talented in any way, but i fi could sing, this is how i would want to sound.

Yes, she breaks away from the typical formula most songwriters use. Yes, she comes at us "out of left field." Isn't it refreshing to hear someone who isn't afraid of herself, afraid of her musical and lyrical talents/abil i t i e s ? And, yes, if you listen, if you really pay attention, there's something as serious and heavy as any of our favorites who take themselves too seriously.

I think christina111 ' s comments echo what people think about her at first blush. Her music does sound like gibberish... until you really listen to it. I mean, the depth of a song like Musicbox, that talks about breaking free of the everyday humdrum... or Like Daniel Cowman that explores the finality (or lack thereof) of death... But all done in a very playful way. Wow! There's nothing gibberish about her when you really listen.

Something about her music insults my intelligence . . . she's so anti-folk and singer-songw r i t e r , but that's what she is! All the gibberish in "Lounge" just irritated me--*I* could write music like that, anybody could. She's so far out of left field that I can't wrap my head around her.
