In My Dreams
About This Album
Hispanic country crooner Rick Trevino's fourth English record is a brokenhearted love poem that radiates with Nashville polish. It was produced and co-written by Raul Malo, whose skills have been honed to perfection at his day job as the voice of the Mavericks. The ten songs on In My Dreams manage to sound both country ("Overnight Success") and Latino ("Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman") with an emphasis on Trevino's rich, honey voice. The title track is a lush, radio-ready lament, ripe with one of Malo's signature Roy Orbison-inspired choruses. As a whole, In My Dreams succeeds with its beautiful arrangements and Trevino's faultless vocals, making it a gem among music row's over-produced monthly quota of releases. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide
