About This Album
A nice, early-'80s turn by la Sonora Ponceña, who seemed unaffected by the salsa slump of the times and continued producing superb albums on a regular basis. The repertoire oscillates between Cuban and Brazilian extracts (Adalberto Alvarez's "Agua a la Candela" and Ary Barroso's "El Dulcero") and Latin jazz (Papo Lucca tries his hand on the flugelhorn). Good choice and taste are key elements in this production; highly recommended. ~ José A. Estévez, Jr., All Music Guide
