About This Album
A posthumous greatest-hits collection (the first of way too many!), Revolution made it out in 1984, with just one new song, the abandoned 45 "Americanos," joining a straightforward run through the band's singles output. Poorly remastered and lacking any of the sparkle that made Westworld so essential, Revolution probably did more damage to Theatre of Hate's reputation than anything else; the package needed to wait another 15 years before it was truly given its day in the sun, as the first volume within the band's Act archive collection. Beautifully remastered and cleaned up all-round, the journey from "Legion" and "Original Sin" on toward the band's final run of 45s -- including "The Hop" and "Eastworld" -- is as peerless as the promise that those last recordings oozed from every pore. ~ Dave Thompson, All Music Guide
