About This Album
Pianist Tommy Flanagan (in a trio with bassist George Mraz and drummer Al Foster) mostly sticks to lesser-known material (with a few exceptions such as "More than You Know" and "All God's Children") on this enjoyable live date. Flanagan was very much in his prime during the period, revitalizing the bop and hard bop traditions. Highlights include Phil Woods's "Goodbye Mr. Evans," Benny Golson's "Out of the Past," "A Biddy Ditty," and "I'll Keep Loving You." A good example of the fine pianist's talents ~ Scott Yanow, All Music Guide
