About This Album
They clearly scrawled big felt-tip logos of the Sex Pistols and Suede on their school binders instead of Pantera, but it's revealing that Tuuli hails from the same Great White North homeland as Kittie. And not just because they're both highly photogenic Canadian all-girl groups that seem to piss off the average male trainspotter. No, rather that Tuuli joins a similar resurgence of unapologetic, irony-free guitar rock bursting at the seams with what can only be described as wide-eyed relish. In fact, listeners could all bemoan how the average Tuuli fan probably couldn't keep their Slits and Au Pairs from getting confused, but that'd be puerile in the face of these punky bar-top beams -- the cooing self-assurance breezing through "Who's the Fool Now?" or the delightfully up-cheek version of the Vibrators' "Baby Baby" -- and if it sometimes sounds like the band biting their own lips, all the better. Most probably would've killed to have binders this cool. ~ Dean Carlson, All Music Guide
