Literally changed my life. I had played guitar for five years and then put it away for almost 6. I picked up my guitar after watching this movie and I haven't put it down. I absolutely love both the album and the film. I strongly recommend buying at least one of them. I have gone to see their tour "The Swell Season" twice now and I can say without a doubt that those were the best two experiences of my life.

If you can, see them LIVE. They bring many other great artists with them - it's amazing and one of the best live shows I've seen. Seriously.

I just returned from the Telluride Bluegrass Festival 2008 (Colorado). Swell Season (Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova) played at 7pm on the last day (this last Sunday). My wife and I attended the four-day event primarily to witness Swell Season live, as we are huge fans of the movie "Once" and of these two artists' story. THEY BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN at the end, Glen has SO MUCH passion...ca n play a guitar unlike anything I've ever heard live. WOW...just WOW. SEE THEM LIVE!! -Logan Morley

I never watch movies twice. I seldom listen to the same album or artist for more than a week or 2. That all changed here.

This album and movie have opened my eyes to trying new musical genres. The beauty of the art these two have created astounds me! You only live ONCE!

I loved it when Falling Slowly won an oscar - they had the best acceptance speech! Although I wasn't a huge fan of the movie, I love the soundtrack

my wife and i watched Once last night and it took less than 5 minutes into the film to realize that Glen had some sustainabili t y to his musical style and performance. we enjoyed the film and now enjoy his music!
