About This Album
For their second album, Walt Mink decided to produce a record by themselves. The result is okay but a far cry from the brilliance of debut album Miss Happiness. Much of the blame must go to the songs -- though good melodies occasionally rear their heads, the tracks just aren't very memorable. At times more inspired by folk than punk (acoustic guitars and gentle melodies are far more prevalent than on Walt Mink's debut), Bareback Ride manages to please rather than dazzle. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
