White Witch as far as I know put out two albums in the early 70's. White Witch a Spritual Greeting and White Witch. Great Albums - I have been converting them to mp3's. Great group unlike the Current White Witch that sucks.

I was also searching for the "Capricorn" White Witch. My college roommate had a couple of their albums and I was hoping Pandora would have something for me to check out. Legally speaking, I'm a little surprised that there's another band with the same name.

Great band. Buddy Pendergrass died of cancer a few years ago.

It is my understandin g , circa mid-80's (and according to Lars, possibly), that one of the two Buddy's became somewhat religious and went in that direction. Lars also told me a few tales of backstage shenanigans after the shows that are, well, shall I say, quite amusing in the context of sordid consorts and groupies (wink-wink).

They had a song that played on the radio, but I don't know its proper title, but I believe it was "It's So Nice to be Stoned (on Marijuana)". They had a song I really liked (also on the 1st album) called "Illusion". They were a good, steady, professional art-glam-roc k band that landed two records in the days when that was no little feat (no pun intended)!

The original White Witch was from Tampa, Florida and had two albums on Capricorn Records. I forget the details but I do know that Buddy Pendergrass and Buddy Richardson were band members, and Larry "Lars" Smith was the light man. They sometimes played at the Mustang Drive-In at Largo, Florida, and at some pirate-like amusement park on Busch Blvd & 40th Street across from Busch Gardens! I still have a bumper sticker that says, "White Witch is a B**ch on Capricorn Records".

I don't know about the "original" White Witch but this band reminds me of Alice Cooper before they learned to play....
