This is a straight reissue of Capitol's 1998 budget release Best of Wilson Phillips, re-tagged in 2005 as part of the label's "Ten Best" series. It includes the trio's four best-known singles, "Hold On," "Release Me," "Impulsive," and "You're in Love," as well as album tracks like "Eyes Like Twins" from W-P's self-titled 1990 debut, and "Give It Up" from '92s Shadows & Light. There are no liner or recording notes, and the photography looks to be straight out of the Capitol headshot vaults. But the 2005 Best of Wilson Phillips is serviceable for casual fans of the group's blissful adult contemporary pop and anyone who purchased their 2004 comeback, California, and got curious about the past. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide
