12 Stones
Biography
12 Stones were formed in the small New Orleans suburb of Mandeville, LA. The group was mostly still in their teens when they formed the lineup of vocalist Paul McCoy, bassist Kevin Dorr, guitarist Eric Weaver, and drummer Aaron Gainer. After performing no more than 12 live performances, they took their demo to New York City and performed at an industry showcase. The band ended up signing to Wind Up Records to record their debut album with producer Jay Baumgardner. The album saw a release in 2002, less than two years after the formation of the group. More success came to the band in 2003, when McCoy duetted on "Bring Me to Life" with Evanescence, which became a smash hit and was included on the Daredevil soundtrack as well as Evanescence's debut album, Fallen. 12 Stones released their second album, Potter's Field, which featured a heavier, more guitar-driven sound than their debut. After taking a break from music to spend time with their families, the band reconvened to make their third album. Inspired by the effects of Hurricane Katrina on their hometown, 12 Stones recorded Anthem for the Underdog in Memphis, TN, with Justin Rimer and Skidd Mills during the better part of 2006, and the album was released in 2007. ~ Bradley Torreano, All Music Guide

But just knowing God is real isn't enough. You also have to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. Nothing else matters, not what you did with your life, how good or bad you were, not what you saw, what you think, not anything but the fact that you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and followed him (hence the Lord part).
In all honesty, I don't know why people don't look into something that could give you "real life" and eternal life. That's a real win win right there, weather you believe what I said. |
Well, the bible can change you, but first you gotta accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, otherwise it's a book. Not to mention the 52 authors through out time all right one message:
"God loves you". As for the facts, look them up, I said you should, because if i said them, you would not have believed, so go ahead, test me on it. Wikipedia it (not the most trustworthy site ever, but it works here. Go ahead, I want you to look at the facts, go ahead, look them up. |

The Bible just gives meaning to people's lives. It tells you to live like a perfect being, which you can't. Want to know why? You aren't perfect, that's why. The moment you find out a goal in life, something that gives it meaning, you won't need a book to tell you, you will always have it in your heart.
Religion supports science you just half to look for the facts
The Bible is just a novel written by diffent men at differnt times. Look at the number of "so called" words of Jesus him self.
No disrespect intented. To each his on. Before you say read it, that it will change my life.. I have read it and it was a good read but I can say the same about lots of novels I've read. |
I still won't read it. What archeaologic a l facts have they found? I would like to know.
The bible is true. You can't deny it when you look into the events and the historical/a r c h e o l o g i c a l ones that proves it (test me on it). The area at that time is affected by the events in bible. Things prophesied in the bible are coming true today, both for the current day and for days long ago.
However no matter how much proof you got, no matter what argument, no matter what justificatio n you have for whatever, it won't save you. Only faith in Him can save you. I say take the leap and have fun. |
Kid, you don't even know why I said what I did, try reading all the comments before you throw stones. No pun intended.
patrick, show some respect for freedom of speech. the bible is true no matter who says what, try reading it sometime. it will change your life

I haven't heard 12 Stones since I bought their "12 Stones" CD several years ago. When I heard this song (Games You Play) I was absolutely sure I would see Breaking Benjamin when I flipped back to Pandora. Glad to see it wasn't, very very similar sound on this song :)
It doesn't matter if they are a Christian Rock band or not. It's how you take the meaning of the songs. If you don't take as "God"-loving song then don't. The whole Bible in Blood thing was unnecessary. I don't believe in a "God", per se, but you don't need to say anything like that. Show some respect for what other people think. I hate people like that, it's not your place to judge whether the bible is true or not, and you certainly don't need to be saying what you did.

holy crapiI remember when these guys used to play free concerts down at local park in mandeville.
Skinner that is completely false and untrue 10 years blows away 12 stones although both bands are great.
hey guys guess wat the lead singer of slipknot is catholic
lol funny |
12 Stones is a reference to the priest's breastplate in the Old Testament, to clarify. I like the style of the songs.
i wanna give a shot of 10 years cuz they sound like their parents got them in the studio and payed for it to be released neh i hate it 12 stones more like 12 drones colin is right its like a song on repeat
a lot of their stuff sounds the same....dont get me wrong, its all awesome, but sometimes a bit repetitive.
my favorite songs by them are games you play and lie to me, both rock!! |
rccars411: There's plenty of hugs to go around. And as for 12 stones, i agree to you a bit, not the best, how ever Christian metal i find awesome. It's the hardcoreness of it and not hearing words and themes that i find highly offensive to a point of being violated I love. Psalm 150 is great. As for the bible: It's great stuff. The promises in it I have experienced my self, some that have saved (physically) my life, have set me free from addictions and brought me great comfort.
good people, i dont know if i would consider them a favortie band, but they do have some good stuff, they also have wicked cool album art.
They're Awesome!!! I don't care what anyone else says, totally amazing! I love Lie To Me >.< Go Regformz!!! I mean, seriously what's up with all of the cussing and trash people post?!
i've been listening to these guys for a while, and i'm still not quite sure what to make of them. on the one hand, their music is decent, but on the other hand, all of the songs i've heard have routinely seemed unfinished from the production side, and also usually sound like a bunch of teenagers in a garage, only drifting more to the emo side than the hardcore.
as for RC cars' statement.. well, all i can say is this: forum trolls are alive and well. |

(more)Some artists may demand that the show is advertized, or that their name be on the marquee, some bands demands are more rediculous, asking for 3 bottles of whiskey and a free bar tab, fruit baskets, flowers, and more. Really, the thing about their name not being on the marquee might have more to do with the lable that they signed with and what they require for their band to do a show (they paid for the record and the tour, they want free streetside advertising) .
maubrey- sorry to hear that you had a bad show experience. It really is a bummer for all the people who looked forward to seeing 12 stones that night, but there may be a bigger reason than 'being stuck-up'. Sometimes when a band agrees to play a gig they fill out something called a rider. The rider contains a list of all the things that need to happen for the band to perform.
well, i will admit they are not "the best band ever!!!" they are pretty good, theyre first album was by far their best, i wouldnt mind seeing them live though
It sadens me to see posts by some who give the apearance of being christians, yet their posts are filled with hate, disdain, judgement, and/of holier-than thouness. Jesus came to earth to love everyone of us, EVERY single one, Everyone. If you follow Christ, you are called to show love. The greatest of the commandments is to Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. The 2nd? Love your neighbor as you love yourself. So don't push people away. Show all agape love.
I was (and still am) very disappointed with 12 Stones. About six years ago, they were to play a concert at a small place in Indianapolis . I was excited to seem them live for two weeks straight. When the time came to see them, they ended up not playing the concert at all because, "they didn't have their name on the marquee with the..." headliner. That was complete bull; I couldn't imagine anyone so stuck-up.
They suck but you don't have to insult people that like it. Unless they like "soulja boy" or some crap like that. Those people are just idiots : )
I doubt rccars literally means that. In fact I'm pretty sure he's poking fun at the superstitiou s nature of religious dogma.
