12 Stones
Biography
12 Stones were formed in the small New Orleans suburb of Mandeville, LA. The group was mostly still in their teens when they formed the lineup of vocalist Paul McCoy, bassist Kevin Dorr, guitarist Eric Weaver, and drummer Aaron Gainer. After performing no more than 12 live performances, they took their demo to New York City and performed at an industry showcase. The band ended up signing to Wind Up Records to record their debut album with producer Jay Baumgardner. The album saw a release in 2002, less than two years after the formation of the group. More success came to the band in 2003, when McCoy duetted on "Bring Me to Life" with Evanescence, which became a smash hit and was included on the Daredevil soundtrack as well as Evanescence's debut album, Fallen. 12 Stones released their second album, Potter's Field, which featured a heavier, more guitar-driven sound than their debut. After taking a break from music to spend time with their families, the band reconvened to make their third album. Inspired by the effects of Hurricane Katrina on their hometown, 12 Stones recorded Anthem for the Underdog in Memphis, TN, with Justin Rimer and Skidd Mills during the better part of 2006, and the album was released in 2007. ~ Bradley Torreano, All Music Guide

It sadens me to see posts by some who give the apearance of being christians, yet their posts are filled with hate, disdain, judgement, and/of holier-than thouness. Jesus came to earth to love everyone of us, EVERY single one, Everyone. If you follow Christ, you are called to show love. The greatest of the commandments is to Love the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. The 2nd? Love your neighbor as you love yourself. So don't push people away. Show all agape love.

I was (and still am) very disappointed with 12 Stones. About six years ago, they were to play a concert at a small place in Indianapolis . I was excited to seem them live for two weeks straight. When the time came to see them, they ended up not playing the concert at all because, "they didn't have their name on the marquee with the..." headliner. That was complete bull; I couldn't imagine anyone so stuck-up.

They suck but you don't have to insult people that like it. Unless they like "soulja boy" or some crap like that. Those people are just idiots : )
I doubt rccars literally means that. In fact I'm pretty sure he's poking fun at the superstitiou s nature of religious dogma.
rccars - if you were so secure in your atheistic beliefs you wouldnt be so afraid of the bible that you have to keep it in a pool of blood so it doesnt affect you.
hey rccars, they probably showed up on you atheist station to give you a taste of some good music. !!!!!!!!!!!! ! !
music is music period. thats all it is who cares if they are religious its not like they are screamin out praises and bible versus or somthin. I mean cmon give em a break. There good!
AWESOME!!!!i love 12 stones! i saw them live promoting their first album on the "see spot rock" tour, they r phenomenal :D
I actually had no clue they were a religious group...hmm they are awesome tho....ROCK ON
rc cars, what a joke! have fun clueless and dying not knowing what comes next bro! you know what? I love secular music, and hit every fest I can, rock the bells, projekt revolution, even ozzfest and mayhem . . . yes I am christian but I'm no religious supremecist, with that said why hasn't there been a christian fest? Under oath, 12 stones, pod, red, as I lay dying, bless the fall, the list could really rock!!! anyone out their a myspace fan? hit em' up for me!
God rockers??? What is that RC CARS (you must have a thing for joysticks)?? ? Music has always been freedom of expression. Maybe you should be a politician so you can regulate away more of our freedoms? Or a lawyer so you can make a profession out of talking out of your @ss.
Hey rccars- you're a rude jerk. Why don't you go post in a more fitting hate-filled message board instead of spewing your ignorance... t h e y have talent, and do what they Love.
Gah... horrible music. What the hell is it with these god rockers? you can tell which ones are strictly god rockers and those that aren't. Soon as these guys started playing on my station... THUMBS DOWN. Amazing how they popped this s**t on an all Atheist station.
Take your false beliefs elsewhere. I keep the bible in a pool of blood so that none of its lies can effect me. |
ugh! always! always, someone has to hate about christian bands.... its pointless and stupid, if your religious great, its always good to have morales, if your an atheist you are just as capable of leading a fufilling life. if you dont like the style, keep it to yourself. im an atheist but relient k is one of my many favorites :) love this band
What IF they were Christians in a secular band? Would that make them in the wrong?? Of course not! What if they were a Christian Band? That's awesome! They have found the meaning of Life Abundantly!!
Hey. Who cares if they are labeled a Christian band. They make music that expresses their lives and times and hearts. If it comes out as Christian beliefs and views then thats what they are driven to create. They may be Christians "In a Band", as opposed to being non-Christia n s "In a Band". Big whoop!
these guys are not a christian band, stop thinking they are just because they dont constantly scream like the metal bands
Christian rock.... eh...? Perhaps. They do have Christian undertones. But I wouldn't call it full out Christian Rock.
It's good stuff though. |
Great music, and would claim as one of my top pix right now. Keep rockin'!
As its written in the old testament. The Ephod(Vest/T u n i c ) that the High Priest wore in the time when The Jews had a temple contained 12 stones, one for each of the 12 tribes of Isreal. They talked about it on their website way back but I cant remember exactly why they chose that but thats where they got it.
THEY ROCK!!! AND THAT THEY'RE BORN AGAIN CHRISTIANS MAKES IT THOUSANDS TIME BETTER
Someone forgot to mention that these guys are all born again Christians! They rock out for Jesus! The genre is Christian Rock!
As Said before great sound.... lots of talent.hope to hear more from them in the future.
