36 Crazyfists
Biography
Equal parts emo and metal, Portland, OR, quartet 36 Crazyfists -- named after a Jackie Chan movie -- comprised members Brock Lindow (vocals), Steve Holt (guitar/vocals), Mick Whitney (bass), and Thomas Noonan (drums). Originally formed in December of 1994 in Anchorage, AK, the quartet played out locally before relocating to Portland (after the death of their original bassist), opening up for the likes of System of a Down, Primus, blink-182, and NOFX, among others. The quartet eventually signed to Roadrunner in 2000, after their friends in Skinlab passed their demo on to the label. Their first album, Bitterness the Star, appeared in 2002. A Snow Capped Romance, which was produced by James Paul Wisner (Dashboard Confessional, As Friends Rust), followed two years later. They toured nonstop behind the record (playing shows with acts like Killswitch Engage and Poison the Well) through December, taking two months off before beginning work on their next album. 36 Crazyfists entered the studio with producer Sal Villaneuva (who'd worked with Thursday and Taking Back Sunday) in October 2005 to commence recording, and their resulting third album, Rest Inside the Flames, appeared in June 2006. ~ Greg Prato, All Music Guide

I love these guys. The've grown so much over the years.. They really deserve better than what they've gotten. Rest Inside the Flames is an incredible album.
First of all, I could barely understand the guy when he was talking.
Secondly, the songs barely sounded like the album versions. Lastly, I don't give a flying f**k cause it was some of the coolest s**t I've seen! But sorry Jacob, ATR was better. |
saw them with trivium and all that remains, and compared to 36 they sucked
This band doesnt get half the credit they deserve! These guys are amazing musicians and amazing people. They actually give a s**t about their fans which I think is bad a**. You can't put 36 in a category!
they are not Emo.....i think they should be classified under "The S**t"

anyone who's seen these guys live up in ak knows how important home is for these guys and how much they love thier original fans. every concert of thiers i have been to has been absolutely amazing, and in the few brief interactions ive had with brock, he's been the coolest, most down to earth guy ever. i love these guys, their music is passionate and energentic and fun, and theirs nothing better than blasting 36 at 2 AM and screaming along!
from the opening rift the intoxicating vocals this band had a great sound thats pure and true to hardcore music, the lyrics are those of which when they hit your ear they grab your attention and blow your mind constantly and do in a way which when the song is over it makes you feed for more...

Much Love for 36, I saw them open for Primus in Anchorage, AK for my first concert EVER! It is still the best show I have ever seen, even 11 or 12 years later.
