The 69 Eyes
Biography
The 69 Eyes, a very dramatic goth metal band, formed in the early '90s in Helsinki. A quartet influenced by Motörhead, the Stooges, the Dead Boys, and the Doors, as well as movies like The Crow, Lost Boys, and The Matrix, they released several albums throughout the '90s and early 2000s. They first went gold in their native Finland with 2000's "Gothic Girl" single, and from then on their popularity increased. An anthology titled Framed in Blood: The Very Blessed of 69 Eyes was released in 2003 and initiated another phase for the band. They released another full-length album, Devils, in 2005 with its sequel, Angels, following in 2007. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide

Concur, thought it was Steele when I first heard it. But as the great Christopher Lambert said, there can be only one.

this guy really tries to sound like Peter Steele, which is understandab l e since Steele is the best male vocalist in the goth genre

I'm not the one who's so far away
When I feel the snake bite enter my veins. Never did I wanna be here again, And I don't remember why I came. Candles raise my desire, Why I'm so far away. No more meaning to my life, No more reason to stay. Freezing, feeling, Breathe in, breathe in... I'm coming back again... I'm not the one who's so far away When I feel the snake bite enter my veins. Never did I wanna be here again, And I don't remember why I came. |

Oh cool! I can't wait to hear it.
oh yeah! I heard about it earlier this week!
I heard somewhere that the sales are not so good thanks to people illegally downloading it. :'( |
Comes out in the states on the 15th September. Europe it was august 28 or 31. It's Back In Blood for those who don't know the title of the album.
Yet another cool Pandora discovery for me. Kind of reminds me of the Sisters of Mercy (yeah, that's a big clue that I'm old).
The new album starts off sounds more like 90's 69 until it hits the song, "Lips of Blood" Then it's pretty much 2000's 69. My faves are Lips of Blood, Night Watch, Hunger, Suspiria Snow White and the song, Eternal. Overall, it's a good album. Only song I didn't like was the song Kiss Me Undead. Couldn't get into that one.
Blessed Be & Paris Kills are my fav CD's with Devils running a close 3rd.
I gave that song a thumb up. Blessed Be, and Angels are my fave.
I can admit I really love "Angel on My Shoulder".
hopefully it's not the song that everyone loves and most fans hate it. ^^' |

4 stars - A true testament to the goth genre; a dark harbor of salacious wonders, frought with primal urges, and the embers of forbidden pleasures. If this sounds like a steamy paperback novel written for pale leather-clad lovelies, it is. 'The 69 Eyes' embraces the true essence of the gothic genre: dark brooding vistas awash with sensuality and lustful ambitions. Few other groups stay so close to the very definition of goth. 'The 69 Eyes' is, above all, a magnet for hot goth girls. See below.

This music is just so much fun. Takes me back to the days of leather jackets and boots thinking being different was so different. Love it!
