The 69eyes
Biography
The 69 Eyes, a very dramatic goth metal band, formed in the early '90s in Helsinki. A quartet influenced by Motörhead, the Stooges, the Dead Boys, and the Doors, as well as movies like The Crow, Lost Boys, and The Matrix, they released several albums throughout the '90s and early 2000s. They first went gold in their native Finland with 2000's "Gothic Girl" single, and from then on their popularity increased. An anthology titled Framed in Blood: The Very Blessed of 69 Eyes was released in 2003 and initiated another phase for the band. They released another full-length album, Devils, in 2005 with its sequel, Angels, following in 2007. ~ Andy Kellman, All Music Guide

One of the many things that makes the 69 Eyes one of my favorite bands is that Jryki69 has such an amazing voice. There are songs where he sounds "growly" but the rest of them he sounds like he has a professional l y trained voice. At least to my ear anyway.

I prefer symphonic or more of a melodic gothic metal rather than just plain all-growl-no - m e l o d y kind of metal. I dunno, hard to describe. like Slipknot is that type of "all-growl" stuff I dislike.

agreed, Spookiness. American bands just don't please me too much anymore. especially metal bands. everyone assumes that I dislike them because they scream too much. I just don't like them because I just don't see what makes them "great". just a concept I'll never understand. so I've given up on American metal. European metal has won my ears. lol

For the type of music I like, my favorite bands are from Norway, Finland & Germany. Nothing against American bands, they just don't do it for me the way European bands do.

I guess he meant it's dull that ALL the similar bands are from Finland, almost not very surprising.
but still, more of the better bands I like are European. guess they play their music better. :/ 69 Eyes is growing. several songs impressed me... uh... can't remember the names. srry. but these guys are cool. :) |

they sound like TON and sisters but yet they're very different-re c e n t l y went on a river trip and this was the only cd i took-my friends didn't like them at first and one said,''that' s not their real voices'' well,whateve r sounds good like the best sex-riiiiggg h h h t t ?

pandora has this station right and the blackest sickest metal stations-eve r y t h i n g else they screw up.

I thought they were TON when I first heard them, but after listening to most of their CD's I can tell the difference & I don't think they sound anything like Type O now.
