Seventh Day Slumber
Biography
Dallas-based alternative CCM band Seventh Day Slumber was led by frontman Joseph Rojas, a former cocaine addict who turned to religion in the wake of a near-fatal overdose. Teaming with guitarist Evan Weatherford, bassist Joshua Schwartz and drummer Adam Witte, he formed Seventh Day Slumber in 1996, and upon signing to the Afinia label the group issued Matthew Twenty-Five three years later. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

Music is AWSOME, and the lyrics are real, it is good to hear Christians bands actually sing about their faith!

I got to see them in concert and it was amazing. and afterword's they talked to us and wow, they me crying by the end. it was humbling, plus to add to all the
emotion and spiritual aspect the wife of the lead singer from Manafest was there praying in tongues and going to each person who was up front and praying with them to. If you have a chance to go see him in concert, TAKE IT!! it is an amazing oppertunity and chances are your life will be a bit different after. I know mine was! |

Great band, these guys have some really good songs, just an added bonus that they are a Christian band.

This band is great...and REAL men...love Jesus.....it ' s great to see someone turn their life around and dedicate their life to God. Good for anyone big enough to do it!!!!
main genre, yeah, but it has to have the message too. i've heard songs/bands without any swearing that certainly don't qualify as Christian in the least. it's sad really.
Christian rock is ony defined by cuss words without = Rock or Metal. With = christian but all in all its still the same main genre.
You may want to re-think that one, johnny4086. Why does it have to be called "GOD ROCK"? You don't call non-Christia n rock by anything but just "ROCK", do you? Of course you don't. So then why do you feel the need to label the Christian rock bands "GOD ROCK"? Rock is Rock, no matter if the band follows Jesus or not. One's faith in Christ doesn't automaticall y make their music "suck". Rock On!

This shows how God has worked with them and many others and how he can change one man's problem and make them come to notice what was right- keep rocking!

Chad.martens is exactly right, after all wouldn't be right to actually let someone have a second chance. Besides that they may reach the lost teenage souls of our cities and bring the undesirables into our spotless churches and make our fine upstanding suit wearing "givers" uncomfortabl e . . . . . . . . R o c k on!
Awesome band, and awesome guys! Too bad too many of our churches can't see past the FORGIVEN sinner and rock band aspect and let these guys play and bless them with their music and testimonies!
I have seen then twice, most recently at the pro life music festival at Warsaw IN. I was very touched by their music and ministry. God is using them to reach lost souls in ways many others can't. And although music isn't enough it is vital instrument. So keep on rockin SDS.
