I have my own particular sorrows, loves, delights; and you have yours. But sorrow, gladness, yearning, hope, love, belong to all of us, in all times and in all places. Music is the only means whereby we feel these emotions in their universality . ~H.A. Overstreet
I just heard "Rylynn," and that's what came to my mind. Beautiful music, Mr. McKee. I can feel the emotion flow from your fingers into my heart. |

Ani Difranco plays like this too, and sings her brilliant lyrics along with it.

Your music is so incredible, Andy. Thank you for recording it for us to enjoy.

If you wnt to know how. its simple its the technique of custom or open tuning mixed with playing in ways that emulate a drum beat

He reminds me of Brian Henke. Look up Brian on YouTube as well. It'd be such a delight to see them both on the same stage.

If you think he sounds ridisulous.. . . try watching him play this stuff on YouTube... its unbelieveabl e . . . . He is truly an amazing and gifted player. Ive been playing for 30+ years... and he just makes me stop and wonder ..."HOW?"
If you haven't seen his videos on youtube...it s worth the time to see them all. |

This man is ridiculous.. . I've been playing guitar for 12 years and listening through "Art of Motion" makes me feel like I should quit.

Shame how the industry works really, Andy is one of those guys who should be making millions in the bank ;)

I just heard this guitarist for the first time last week and he's getting added to the list of greats including Hedges, Phil Keaggy and others. Such emotion and playfulness, great technique. If you like this check out "Candy Rat Records" his label that released these albums. They have a lot of great guitarists.

I remember Andy back in the Topeka days when he was still teaching guirar lessons. It was Andy and Jon Neeley...tho s e two are the best damn guitarist I have ever seen...and most likely ever will. I still have is original release "Nocturne" which I beleive was a basement recording.
Good to see he made it out of that s**t hole town and is still playing. The Koz |

Imaginative and enlightening - reminds me so much of Michael Hedges in his pensive period of the 1980's.

Andy McKee is very talented. Check him out on youtube, its so good. I find his music so soothing. Helps to calm me down. Its great to listen to during the day and before bed.

I just saw Andy McKee and Don Ross in Portland OR on January 11th 2008. What an incredible show. They're both extremely talented and the duets were amazing. The venue could have been better - but that's not their fault. It was their first time in Portland after all. They're touring together for the next few months. Check them out if you get the chance!

I was lucky enough to see Andy McKee 17/11/07 in Coventry UK (with Tommy Emmanuel). He's awesome live - such a talented guitarist. Plus such a nice guy to talk to. See him live if you can - he's doing a solo tour May 2008!
