Abney Park
Biography
Abney Park originally began in the early '90s with founder Robert Brown attending the University of London only to drop out, indulge himself in the underground electronic music scene and eventually relocate to Seattle during the peak of the grunge explosion. Brown stuck out of the city's music scene of flannels and monthly showers to form the dark electronica of October 27th and the EaTen. With the latter of the two experiencing a slight lineup change, Abney Park resulted in 1997 while continuing on the brooding industrial trip-hop of his prior projects. A self-titled, self-released full-length would capture this sound by 1998. ~ Mike DaRonco, All Music Guide

Kings of the Steampunk scene. Abney Park is an anachronism at its finest.

If you like abney park, you can download their albums directly from their website for a small fee. That way they get all the money from the download!

Abney Park is AWESOME! They need the other albums by them, too! From Dreams or Angels is fantastic; and Lost Horizons has the coolest songs
|
||
I agree muddyturtle, any idea how to recommend/re q u e s t that they get a specific album?

Abney Park is amazing in concert. They put on more than a show; it's an experience! Interactive and laid-back, but full of energy. Take it from a seamstress: their costumes are fantastic! Their more recent music is their best so far. Steampunk is the only way I've heard to describe it, but there just aren't words to cover it. Violin, mandolin, guitar, piano, bass, drum, accordion, harmonica, synth, and haunting voices! I can't wait for the new songs they showcased last night to come out!

I agree with both the comments already mentioned. Lost Horizons, From Dreams or Angels...all good.

Will suggest to the band that they send the project copies of the other albums when I see them at the end of the month. Definitely need to get Lost Horizons and From Dreams or Angels represented here.

I love this band. If only Pandora had more of their albums... *sigh*
