Alter Bridge
Biography
Alter Bridge resurrected the music-making portion of Creed. After that band's 2004 dissolution, guitarist Mark Tremonti and drummer Scott Phillips tapped ousted bassist Brian Marshall for the new project. Ex-Mayfield Four frontman Myles Kennedy was soon on board as well, and Alter Bridge made their Wind-Up debut in August 2004 with One Day Remains. Written largely by Tremonti, the record tried to lean more toward a hard rock/metal sound than the post-grunge grandstanding of his previous group. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide

i love creed and alter bridge but alter bridge i by far the best before tomarrow comes is awsome

i am beyond happy with marks new style of playing. to me it has 10,000x the emotion it once had in the feel, sound, and rather diffucult style. Creed had its highs and lows. but both albums hold up so well in all songs. I seen them live and my face melted right off!!! these guys have shown true songs and music from the hearts. i am in awe still of the great musicianship .
this is an amassing band the song broken wings is one of my favorites :)
Creed was amazing...bu t Alter Bridge absolutely blows them out of the water!!!!
what can i say other than listening to them have become a daily routine for me!!! good stuff..=)
Open your eyes chorus sounds like "When they open there eyes they realise were at war" and its like WTF?? Still a sweet band and good song plus great solos.
Alter Bridge's music is as good as anything to begin with. But what their music says and feels and means is absolutely amazing, and unlike anything any other band has done. Best. Band. Ever.
I like Creed more than Alter Bridge but Alter Bridge is good I guess their the new Creed.
Alter Bridge kicks the Sh*t out of creed. Scott Stapps wasn't even that good. He had a couple good songs, but most the time he sounds the same
All I can say is that the only thing better than Alter Bridge is seeing Scott Stapps Solo Career fail miserably. Mark Tremonti is a bonafide rock guitar god. If you dont believe me listen to the solo on track 7, Blackbird, a tribute to steve morse. One day Remains was good but Blackbird is awesome. I have seen them live and there is not a better face melting to be had.
Waaaaaaaaaaa a a a a a a a a a y BETTER THAN CREED.
Scott Stapp is friggin moron, a TOOL in love with his own ego and his chest hair. R.I.P. Creed, Alter Bridge is standing on your grave. |
Hmmm...I like it, but it's not as good as Creed was at the end...Weathe r e d ruled. Listen to the songs Weathered and Bullets and then to the entire album of Blackbird as a comparison. But then Van Halen was always better with David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar was better solo, and David Lee Roth sucked after VH. Alter Bridge is like VH with Sammy Hagar...stil l pretty darn good.

I saw alterbridge at Rock on the Range and I completely fell in love with the band and the sounds of Myle's voice. I can't wait for the next album Blackbird is a great album and the songs are meaningful and still rock out at the same time! I love it!
In Loving Memory is a truly beautiful song...as is the rest of this album...Myle s has a voice that just carries throughout the entire house....so much better than that Stapp character... .
Ever since I first listened to One Day Remains, i was totally in love with them. I like Myles' voice alot better than Scott from Creed, but i also like the fact that Alterbridge kept some of the sound from their old band. These guys rock on hardcore!!!
Alter Bridge is my favorite new band out there, breaking the mold from all the Nickelback and Seether clones. Those bands get lucky and have a decent song on each release, whereas every song on both Alter Bridge releases is great. I couldn't make it to their show the last time they were in the Baltimore area, but I will definitely catch them the next time around! Stapp had a good voice, but the band didn't need his "messiah" image fronting their performances . Myles is a way better frontman.
Blackbird is one of the best rock albums to ever come out. This band is just very technically sound and talented, and they seriously kick some a** live. Rock on!!!!!!!!!
the Lyrics make Alter Bridge what they are... So meaningfull and thought provoking.
Can't wait for a new album, even though blackbird is not even a year old. |
True...not only did they distance themselves from Creed and the Nickelback clones, they pretty much brought a lot of elements from classic hard rock back including some mad solos and riffs.
The sad thing is that because they came from Creed they'll always have that millstone to carry. But, to me, they've done a great job at shattering that millstone and distancing themselves from that atrocity. These guys know what rock is and I find it difficult to pull their CD out of my stereo. Long live rock!
I hated Creed, and Alter Bridge....pe r s o n a l l y . . . . i ' m not impressed by. I don't really like them.
This is one of my all time FAVES love Mark's voice!! When I first heard this band I
said what's Creed? |
I love this band. Saw them in Dallas and they were awesome. My favorite. Can't get enough
definitely my favorite band
the music they play is so rich with sound, and the lyrics and tonality of each song are superb; they are musicians. xP. always puts me in a great mood. I've been singing white knuckles for since this morning; it just popped into my head and stayed with me :) |
these guys are my favorite band! I went to thier concert in Dallas with a friend who has been to Stone Temple Pilots, and his fav. Red hot chili Peppers. He said it was the best concert hes been to, and I agreed.
as a person whos been able to personally meet mark tremonti, shake his hand, and touch his guitar i cannot say anything bad about this band. Their music, stage prescence, professional i s m surpass those of any other band i have had the pleasure of meeting. Keep rocking hard Alter Bridge!!!!
I have been to hundreds of concerts and consider myself ruled by the music that is being played wherever I may be. It affects your mood and state of mind. I have always loved Creed, but when I saw Alterbridge last year, I couldn't believe how AWESOME they were. Best concert, best band I have ever seen!!! The truth be known...thei r song "In Loving Memory" will be my funeral song (along with Ozzie's "If I close my eyes forever"). Those cute and talented guys need to promote themselves more. Can'

Just recently started listening to them and love every minute of it so I looked them up on the fan site and I think they actually have four albums including this one
I was a huge fan of creed, and i have to admit, with the realease of blackbird, Alter Bridge has superceeded anything ever done by creed... this is an amazing band, musically and lyrically. Keep it up guys, one more album like this and you should be recognised world wide!
I stumbled upon these guys on itunes and was blown away! How did I not hear about them sooner! Their sound/lyrics / e n e r g y are so genuine and on mark! Keep up the fight guys, your music must continue in the future!
One of the first bands in the world who made two albums without one bad song one either of them!!
I can't wait to see them end of januari 08. |
I totally agree with Roger MacEachern on everything he said everything is so true. I know i would sing back at them in a concert. Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti rock. I love Blackbird and Ties That Bind. Awesome lyrics.
Blackbird - Great CD. Great music. Love Tremonti's melodic little guitar pieces. Love the lyric content. The choruses ROCK! Damn, wish I could write like that. I can already picture the fans singing them back in concert.
Well done, boys. |
