Amber Pacific
Biography
Seattle-based Amber Pacific first formed in 2002 as Follow Through while the guys were still juniors in high school. Hopeless Records heard some of the band's initial recordings and signed them up, and the combo made its debut as Amber Pacific in May 2004 with the Fading Days EP. The sound was urgent, slick punk-pop in the vein of Story of the Year, the Audition, and the All-American Rejects. Amber Pacific worked hard in the summer that followed, honing their skills as a touring band with dates on the Warped Tour. Following that they reentered the studio, and the full-length The Possibility and the Promise appeared just about a year after the original EP. By this point the band's lineup included vocalist Matt Young, guitarists Will Nutter and Justin Westcott, drummer Dango, and bassist Greg Strong. Touring continued, including another summer spent on Warped, though Westcott left sometime along the way. Takeover Records owner and ex-Yellowcard member Ben Harper joined the gang in summer 2006 as their touring second guitarist, and though he was announced to be a permanent addition that October, he'd moved on by the year's end. The foursome continued on ahead, however, and in May 2007 their sophomore album, Truth in Sincerity, was released. ~ Johnny Loftus, All Music Guide

omg i love amber pacific!!! they neeeeed to release a new album like... now

Amber Pacific's drummer, Dango, is off the charts. As a former drummer myself, I think his licks are just amazing. Easily one of the best skin pounders out there right now. Hopefully we'll see a new release in the near future.

amanda listing (psh. probably never gonna happen) says: 10-19-2008
they never broke up. the vocalist left the band, and their label only was a one EP, two LP deal, so not only did they have to find a new vocalist, but a new label. but, they've found both and a new CD is due out early next year. :) Really? Do you know roughly when it will b out? |

this band kicks a**!!!! gotta love 'em. : )
god, why do all the bands i like have to break up?! |
Sorry but I have to say this,
The singer isn't that good at all. His voice gets annoying. And the music isn't that great either. It seems its the same in every song. So I think its a good thing this band broke up. |
they need to up date Matt left the band to go to school so he can become a school principal.

I knew Will back in the day, nice guy and a nice sounding band. Really like Always You, it's so pretty.
i'm gonna really miss matt. his voice was one of a kind.it would totally rock to have him as a principal, though.i'd purposely get in trouble so i'd have to go to the office, then ask to get my permission slip signed.x)

I think this band has really good potential. A fun fun listen but with a little cleaning up they could be a truly great band.

When I first heard an Amber Pacific song, it was love @ first chord! Not only are they amazing but god they're GOOD!!! Lord Vishnu go beat on some other bands, but not Amber. You'll find you're going against a LOT of people who adore this band and would love to give you a peice of their minds. 10 year olds?? that's horrible!!! Besides, some 10 year olds have VERY good taste in music...!
I've been a fan since the begining. I just hope they get a new label soon so they can go back on tour. Not really sure what to expect from whomever the pick to be their new singer. It really sucks that Matt left the band. I hope he is doing well, but I will miss seeing him up on stage. Dango is still the man though. Man can wail on some drums.
Pander Unspecific? Come on Lord Vishnu, that doesn't even make sense. And I'm 18, in college, playing music for almost 5 years, listening to it my whole life, and I love Amber Pacific. Try to tell me I'm 10 years old and haven't developed tastes.

I have seen them like 10 times live due to the fact they were on tour with my fav band Monty Are I a bunch of times, but seriously there live show is great!
