Amos Lee
Biography
Singer/songwriter Amos Lee draws inspiration from such soul and folk artists of the '70s as Bill Withers, John Prine, Neil Young, and James Taylor. The Philadelphia native first became serious about performing while attending the University of South Carolina during the mid-'90s. After graduating, the English major taught elementary school before deciding to pursue a music career full-time. A period of waiting tables and bartending followed as Lee honed his songwriting skills. Eventually, he landed some high-profile opening-slot gigs including an extended tour with pianist/vocalist Norah Jones. He released his eponymous debut album on Blue Note in 2005 and his sophomore effort, Supply and Demand, in 2006. Last Days at the Lodge followed in 2008. ~ Matt Collar, All Music Guide

I absolutely adore Amos Lee. I first met him at the Tin Angel, before I even knew he performed there, I thought he worked there. "Sophomore effort" is an overused and misused phrase. Tuck it away for awhile. This guy is more deserving than "sophomore". Enjoy Amos' talent. Whatever grade he is in! (both latest CD's are very good...as much as I've heard...whic h is enough to buy at least one.) Here's to more grace to Amos, and thanks to Pandora to playing him.

Probably my favorite musician. Anything that comes from Amos Lee is grammy worthy in my opinion. He puts on the best show i've ever seen, and he does a great Michael McDonald impression.

His song "The Truth" is an instant hit with every person i've ever played it for. He is a great songwriter and a passionate signer, in an decade void of both.
