ballyhoo! is pretty good i must say good voice and good sublime covers but theyre orignal stuff is good to 2 so ppl that just saw that they covered a few sublime songs(which doesnt automattical y call them a tribute stoopid a s s e s) and that judged their name and album cover and name and everything can smoke my pole cuz these ppl didnt even listen to them and give em a chance, they didnt no who they were and since they didnt just automaticall called them "gay" or whatever.
Ballyhoo! is actually really fantastic live. I became friends with them thriugh my friend Mike, and we went to see them in Vail, CO last year, they are a lot of fun and Cheers! is a great album. Check it out for what it is. Good, chill music.
Agreed with SeanBloch... . Dont Judge off of 1 album listen to thier other stuff before you go saying their an awful version of sublime, cuz in all naturatliy, u probally never even scene sublime live so you dont appreciate their music and are just on the bandwagon that had to listen to sublime cuz thier friends make fun of them. peace out and true sublime fans that love seeing other groups attempt at the cup. this ones good.
Don't just judge on whether or not the tribute album from Ballyhoo! lives up to your Sublime expectations . They are a band from Maryland and I am glad to see Pandora has given them some recognition, but they need to include their other albums. Check out www.ballyhoo r o c k s . c o m or www.myspace. c o m / b a l l y h o o

great cover when you stop others may continue in your footsteps that,s the curse of fame and talent
weird, Sublime is the best band of all time and this is just a rip.
You can sound like them just don't do their songs. |
I am not a fan...especi a l l y of their version of Caress Me Down...if they have something worthwhile please tell me
just discovered them...anoth e r sublime copycat (as far as i can tell) but thats ok i guess...they ' r e not bad
lets get some ballyhoo originals on here..heard em in tallahassee, fl..sick..
there cover is alright but their original stuff is way better.
check'em out. |
I think this is a great tribute album.. If love Sublime, that was the reason you went out and baought it right? Shut up and listen.. Its cool!!
wow i dont see why peopole are so pissed i actually like a different take on40 oz its interesting but different. It definitly isnt sublime but thats the whole point isnt it?
i'll be honest, i'm a huge Sublime fan, and this song pisses me off. completely bastardized version. However, Ballyhoo! is one of my favorite bands who has put out some really good stuff, and they are not a tribute band by any means. They just happened to do a crap cover for this album. And just because Pandora doesn't have any other albums listed doesn't mean they don't have any. Three most popular albums are 365-day weekend, Do it for the Money!, and Cheers, with the latter being my favorite.
the cover of 40 oz of freedom is lame! mixing sublime with alt-metal "incubus" style is wrong. bradley would of been pleased with an ethically diverse band to cover his songs with world influence, not a bunch of white suburb dudes.
wow. ballyhoo fans are very angry people. Chill out. People don't know Ballyhoo! and lots of bands aren't on pandora.
Really bummed that this is what came up when I did a search for Ballyhoo! They are in no way a "cover band". They play their own music and cover a few songs, but there is absolutely no reason to label them a "cover band". LOVE THEM!! Check out www.ballyhoo r o c k s . c o m or www.myspace. c o m / b a l l y h o o
there are a tribute band you r-tard read the freakin album name, a sublime tribute album o and they dont have anything else album wise which means that they are a tribute band
this is not a sublime cover band, but they do do a version of 40 oz to freedom that is pretty damn good, and possibly one other sublime song.. but thats it! theyre a very good reggae-rock band out of maryland. check out their other tunes.
I personally am very pleased with the cover of 40 oz to freedom that just came up. It is a well done cover, in that it reproduces Sublime in a new style. I feel that this is exactly what a tribute should do.
I have long been a big sublime fan; probably the most played artist in my library. In fact, the station this came up on WAS a sublime station I had created. I don't find this tribute album insulting or degrading of Sublime's work, but rather a great shout out to their great work. |
A f**king cover band?!?! Really Pandora, do you need to stoop to such levels? If I want to hear Sublime tunes, maybe I should just create a Sublimne station eh? Brilliant I know.
Get over your Sublime itch....Thes e guys rock...get over it. They can exist side-by-side . I love them.
Why is it when you go over to SoCal all the college kids from Scottsdale feel the need to rock Sublime. There are more bands out of SoCal then Sublime.
