William Topley's vocal style really is reminiscent of David Baerwald (formerly of David and David, who had a rather low-key hit with "Boomtown"), but he's got a cocky snarl that always makes me think of John Hiatt in his "Slow Turning" period. Whoever Topley calls to a listener's mind, he's worth hearing and his music is definitely worth purchasing! Yeah, I love his stuff... And I agree with Steve: Play this band loud and dance!
