Gary Paxton wasn't the singer. He was the engineer and producer - - Bobby "Boris" Pickett was the singer. Unfortunatel y Bobby died in 2007 of leukemia. He was 69 years old.

The guy singing this song is Gary S. Paxton. He is the one of the two people singing the song "Cherry Pie" and whose credit is known as Skip and Flip. The names, Skip and Flip, are the names given because the DJ who played the demo tape of the song Cherry Pie, didn't know who sent it to him. Skip and Flip are names of his two pet dogs.
