Born Of Osiris
Biography
Chicago-based metalcore outfit Born of Osiris (formerly known as Rosecrance) formed around the talents of Lee McKinney (guitar), Ronnie Canizaro (vocals), Joe Buras (keyboards/backing vocals), David Darocha (bass), Cameron Losch (drums), and Matt Pantelis (guitar) while still in high school. The band's signature blend of thrash and highly melodic progressive death metal caught the ear of Sumerian Records, which signed the band (all of whose members were only 18 at the time) and released its debut, New Reign, in 2007 and sophomore effort, Higher Place, in 2009, the latter of which found its way into the Billboard Top 100. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide

Born of Osiris is a Melodic Deathcore band first of all. It and Cob have no relation whatsoever, other than they are both awesome. CoB is Melodic Death Metal with a bit of Black Power Metal, they have a completely unique sound such as BoS. If you want to hear bands similar to them check out Wintersun, Amon Amarth, Archeon, Ensiferum, and Insomnium.

cradle sounds nothing like bodom either. bodom is more eighties classical style and cradle is just evil sounding. i think imperanon sounds a lot like bodom but i dunno which band came first
YES!! I completely and utterly agree with Lee Mintz. I've been saying that forever. But I do agree with TNR being better than AHP, not that it sucked.
these guys dont sound anything like children of bodem, if u want COB rip offs just listion to cradle of filth youll see what i mean. Born Of Osirus is way better then those bands anyways.
Like children of bodom? lawlz.
If listened to them for a couple years. and your f**king retarted. hopefully they dont sell out any time soon. all the other good bands did. |
Dude, Born Of Osiris sounds nothing like Children Of Bodom! Born Of Osiris isn't "Death/Black Metal", it's called Deathcore. Completely different from Children Of Bodom! They are more Death/Math/T e c h n i c a l Metal that anything.
rlly sic band. my buddy knows the bass player i think. he said he was his cousin or something
These d-bags are a complete Children of Bodom rip-offs! BOOOOORING! High School quality guitar work and every song SOUNDS THE SAME! BOOOOOOOOORI N G !
Very few American Death/Black metal bands that are worth anything, and this band ain't worth spit. Hail Satan! |
Gonna see these guys playing with Hatebreed. Cant Wait! A new favorite of mine.

New vocalist. He is a lot better than this guy. his range is huge compaired to this guy and way less monotone, new lyrics are way more intellectual aswell. Overall they improved vastly. get that s**t up here pandora!
The New Reign is great. A Higher Place is pretty disappointin g even after multiple listens. They were Great at Progressive Damnation but were not that great at Summer Slaughter and it looks like they changed up at least one band member. Hopefully they can get it back.
Woahh I-pathman no they dont. Why the f**k isnt A Higher Place on here?!
They're so godly live. I saw em' at summer slaughter, and whatever recording flaws they have are completely blown out the window.
They seem like a cool band. The mix is terrible though, and the name sucks pretty bad.
you have to keep singing with a nose bleed. its just like boxing. same with guitar playing. gotta just bleed and rip and shred it up. BOO rules
I saw them live in Iowa at Music as a Weapon 4....
His nose was bleeding during a song, AND HE KEPT SINGING WITH BLOOD RUNNING DOWN THE MIC!!!!! |
This is PURE TALENT!!! this CD has not come out of my car for the year I've had it. Cant wait to see them live.
both of you are failures at life and are jealous because you can't do half as good as them
Yeah, sounds like every other run-of-the-m i l l local band. Mediocre at best.
this band is the sh*t. no doubt about it... could use longer songs though
finally a band with a pair of balls...if it had better quality and longer songs, this is easily my favorite album...rock on
I hope the next album has better quality recordings. It's going to be sick, i know it.
