Brett Dennen
Biography
Youthful West Coast singer/songwriter Brett Dennen first drew attention in 2004 with the single "Desert Sunrise." The tune, with its easy groove and soulful phrasing, garnered enough spins on KCRW to warrant the release of his self-titled debut the following year. In 2006 Dennen signed with Dualtone and released So Much More. ~ James Christopher Monger, All Music Guide

'Ain't No Reason' and 'Blessed' are ballads. I love his voice. I guess I'm into folk-influen c e s . He doesn't sound commercializ e d at all.

I first came across his MySpace page. Blown away. I love his voice. Raspy. Rock on Brett.
When I first heard his voice, I was like "Holy f**k this is bad.", but I like him now. It's a very aquired taste.
When I first heard Brett's voice I was really skeptical, but now he is one of my favorites. His songs are so amazing. I absolutely love "Who Loves You the Most" (I think that's what it's called...?)
odie47, what the hell? I hate to get all political, but it's impressive if it's impressive . Right? If Brett was a lady, would you comment something like, "She sings pretty good for a girl."?
I hear you khopper, definitely- "reminds me of of a simpler time in my life," too!
Clear, up-lifting, fresh, high, spirited. sweet. I like him. Nice addition. |
Brett Dennen's music is beautiful--s o u l f u l , thoughtful, meaningful. I was fortunate enough to see him in concert on his "Love Speaks" tour, and it was an amazing show!
Brett is awesome. His voice is unique, and lyrics powerful. Aint no reason is one of my favorite songs. I really think every time i listen to it.
love aint no reason. his voice is unique, (in a sense like james blunt) yet not at all irritating after prolonged listening. awsome hairs.
I worked with Brett briefly at CYO Camp in Occidental, CA- he's a great guy and sings a mean campfire song!
this guy is great, soulful and provocative. . . .more, please.
i love this guy. he is very outspoken in his music and is very mellow at the same time. kick a**
First saw Brett at the Soup...love your music and your positive messages. You go, Brett!
I love your voice, it's amazing and I can fall asleep to your music. :) How old is he? he sounds young but I could be wrong...
In response to Odie a couple months ago....Huh? What the hell does his gender have to do with it?
Saw Brett in Richmond last year. If you get a chance, don't miss.
Great musician with big upside. Hope he comes back to Virginia. |
I saw him at a Farmer's Market 3 yrs ago and came home with his first album. Love it! Glad to see a local boy make it to pandora.
I just heard Brett Dennen for the first time here on Pandora - Sweet!
Reminds me quite a bit of a band I heard play live last year in California, The Freys. They live the Life Organic in beautiful Northern CA and their music reflects it. Check 'em out: www.thefreys m u s i c . c o m (just realized I've never checked to see if they're available in Pandora!) |

I have only heard a couple of songs on here, but what I've heard I really like. I'm a bit confused by a couple of the comments left on here. What does gender have to do with anything? Talent is talent, and he has it. All other judgements seem a bit shallow to me.

We have seen him live twice, and each time I was even more impressed than before. This kid LOVES music and it's undeniable. With his barefeet and fun loving eyes he brings you with him into each song. You move even if you didn't want to, and are left better because of it. Anytime he is close enough we will be there. The world needs more musicans like this.
i dig it but I agree with Traci, i would be more impressed if he was a chick...he's talented but...eh.
Just saw Brett in SF last night! Awesome show. Beautiful music and message. WE LOVE YOU BRETT!
One of my favorite albums. He has a voice that draws you in and music that mellows.
