Biography
The Los Angeles-based hard rock act Buckcherry formed in mid-1995, after singer Joshua Todd and guitarist Keith Nelson were introduced through their tattoo artist. After cutting several demos, the duo recruited bassist Jonathan "J.B." Brightman and drummer Devon Glenn and began performing live, quickly earning a local following for their swaggering, grunge-flavored music. Following the subsequent addition of second guitarist Yogi, Buckcherry signed with DreamWorks Records and issued their self-titled debut LP in 1999. Singles such as "Check Your Head" and "For the Movies" were modern rock hits, allowing Buckcherry to raise their profile by summer 2000.
The following year, Buckcherry released their second album, Time Bomb. Although it wasn't widely noticed by critics, AC/DC recruited the band as an opening act for a series of shows, and Buckcherry's audience grew accordingly. In July 2002, founding member Joshua Todd unexpectedly quit the group, and Buckcherry took a multi-year hiatus to recoup. They eventually regrouped in 2005 with original members Todd and Nelson, as well as newcomers Xavier Muriel (drums), bassist Jimmy Ashhurst, and guitarist Stevie D. The revised lineup hit the studio later that year to record 15, which was released in early 2006 and yielded the band's first Top Ten pop single, "Sorry." 15 went platinum on the strength of its crossover appeal, and Buckcherry quickly returned in 2008 with a fourth album, Black Butterfly. saw them last night in a very intimate setting, maybe 50 people, they did a short acoustic set that was amazing!!! they sound just as awesome live

Saw this kick a** band in ATL. They rocked. Josh Todd looked pretty drunk and put on a hell of a show. There is a great concert hall in ATL called the Tabernacle which used to be a huge church turned into a rock n roll fun fest. Hope to see them again. Rehab is for quitters. Rock bands, keep drinkin and rockin.... Rock ain't for p**sies

I'm calling you out Wayne Hawk! Although I admit I never lived in L.A. or have exact dates, I highly doubt that G-n-R was even together yet in '84! Appetite came out in '87 so I'm guessing they might have formed as early as '85. Unless you saw them perform in a club, they definitely didn't have any material recorded in '84! Also, if you bothered to look at any of the album covers, you would see that the proper spelling for Buckcherry is all one word. Geesh...

I absolutely love this band as much as when Gun's-n-Rose s blindsided me back in '84! I only wish I heard them since the mid-90's. I've got their last 2 albums at the top of my "Albums to get!" list. Being a true Rock music lover since birth and now about to turn 54 (!) later this year, it gives me a reason to keep living! ;-} Is the correct spelling Buck Cherry or Buckcherry?
