This track is studio smooth. Great band backing him up. Guitar solo is good but still sounds pleasantly amateur....l i t t l e raw. tasty for sure.

He was the resident guitarist in the late 60's at a club called 'the Cellar' in Ft. Worth. It was a beatnik thing before turning hippy with 'cool' beatnik phrases still on walls, like 'coffee jazz and thou'. I was 17 and working washing glasses,even fixing drinks, or at the door to hit a buzzer if cops were coming up the stairs (the waitresses made NO other money than 'tips' so they 'strip danced for added tips), but the sound in there was great and Bugs was a real treat to hear play. Bugs is a Longview / Tyler Tx local. I've been listening to and seeing him LIVE since I was a kid. My Blues Station wouldn't be the same without Bugs !!! Anyone remember the Falcon and the Crow bar in Kilgore ?

I grew up in Dallas in the mid 70's listening to Bugs Henderson, John Nitzenger & other greats from the area at Mother Blues, Sneaky Pete's & many other local bars & small venues for local musicians. Man, those were the days for true musicians with talent & not just a floor show. Goes without saying that I'm not a youngster.

Bugs is a personal friend om nime and my husband. he is a musician here is St. Louis and has played with Bugs off and on for 25 years.
