I was going to leave a comment about Ox but I believe "Carson" said it best below.

Vast Aire is one of the best artists in hip-hop. If only he put out more material...

incredible hiphop music. i remember when they came out on Tony Hawk. with the scream phoenix track. then of course the best damn rap tour went off the chain with c-rayz and 4th pyramid. still the best in the industry

One of the greatest (GREATEST!) underground HipHop albums of all time. Vast Aire's poetic flow, along with Vordul's guerilla-lik e way of spitting lyrics, combined with El-P's production make this a true classic. Cannibal Ox simply inspires one to believe that HipHop still has hope and that all is not lost within the landscape of art, music and true culture. Long live Cannibal Ox regardless!

The Cold Vein was an example of truly prophetic hip-hop and the production still sounds fresh today (thank you El-P). I've had this album for years and I still spin it regularly. Vast Aire and Vordul Megilah are masters of bringing it intellectual l y , poetically and hard... all at the same time. They rap about real s**t, and paint a tragically beautiful portrait of life in inner-city NY. I lament on a regular basis the fact that the OX had to die. Peace and the Lord's blessing to Vordul!
