Chante Moore
Biography
Chanté Moore, the daughter of a minister, grew up on gospel music and albums by George Duke and Lee Ritenour, sometimes applying her lyrics to their music. Moore decided as a teenager that she wanted to become a singer after an inspirational performance in a high-school rendition of The Wiz. In addition to her writing and singing talents, she was a successful beauty pageant contestant.
Before releasing her debut CD, Precious, Moore lent her talents to El DeBarge's In the Storm; the track "You Know What I Like" showcases Moore's vocals on the chorus. The follow-up to Precious, Love Supreme, featured the single "Old School Lovin'." Four years after Love Supreme, Moore released her third album, This Moment Is Mine. Exposed followed in 2000, featuring production work from Jermaine Dupri and the team of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. Though she didn't release any solo material for several years, she recorded a pair of albums -- 2003's Things That Lovers Do and 2006's Uncovered/Covered -- with her husband, Kenny Lattimore. She followed those releases in 2008 with Love the Woman, issued on the Peak label. ~ Craig Lytle, All Music Guide

She is beautiful and has so much talent. She is one of the best of her generation. She doesn't get the credit she deserves because she doesn't have a Vegas type of show. She has a true voice and doesn't have to dance around stage and videos like a stripper(no disrespect to strippers or other artist) to mask that she can't really sing. Chante and Tamia are just as beautiful and sexy as others who you hear and see all the time. Keep doing what you doing because your fans appreciate you.

Why is it that classic, beautiful amazing artists always fall through the cracks? Ms. Moore is a true talent and she is a true artist I appreciate her true to self style and how she wont bend to todays empty artist mentality and she continues to be a great artist

She is one of the few artist who has the ability to take you outside of yourself. When you close your eyes and listen to her, she can take you to another time, another place. She is love, she is happiness and joy, she is also sadness and pain. Her music spans the gamut, and no matter what emotional mood that you are in, Chante has something for you. Her music is deep and her voice is hauntingly beautiful. I love her.
