Biography
An urban Black gospel band with crossover appeal, Commissioned are an extremely evangelistic group in concert who put on such a dramatic show that the altars are routinely packed with repenters following their performances. Members Fred Hammond, Keith Staten, Michael Brooks and Marvin Sapp have all done many successful solo projects as well. They spent most of the '90s pursuing those careers, but found themselves back together in 2001 for a reunion tour and the first of another successful series of albums. ~ Bil Carpenter, All Music Guide

Commissioned was ground breaking as a comtemporary gospel group. They were true pioneers, often pushing the envelope with there hot tracks wonderful ballads and great lyrics. With vocals high up in the mix, background vocal leads and air tight harmony they were second to none in the music business. They never did really receive there do. Ask Brian Mc Knight, Witney Houston and Boyz to Men.

I too looovvve Commissioned and always will. I have been listening to them as well since the first album. They are an awesome group and I love the fact that they never sold out to fit into "wordly standards". Truly they are commissioned to be a witness and a light.

I love all the songs of Commissioned because they are commissioned to uplift those who are down in spirit. The music has ministered to me in my ups and downs. I've listened to them since the very first album twenty-somet h i n g years ago. I simply love these brothers.

Commissioned , t h i e r music just keeps on blessing me. Thanks Commissioned for all the hard work that went in to the music you made. I hope as individuals you are still ministering. I would be happy to hear another reunion cd or hear your latest version of the group with one or two new vocalists like you have done in the past.

Hi! Thank God for commissioned they are the most anointed group that I have ever heard sing gospel songs. The words in their songs have so much meaning. I really absolutely love commissioned . I wish that they would get back together as they were meant to be. God bless you commissioned .

Commissioned is the only group I know that has been consistant in ministering under the anointing in every song. There is not a song that does not minister to the soul of man, I mean from their beginning as a group until this day. You can actually hear the message in the music!! I love everything they've ever recorded.

commissioned unbelievable that the group ever seperated the anionting on ther
songs are truly truly overwhelming at times. I would think the only reason for a split would be creative differences. But praise God for that reunion, AMEN He who has started this work in you, is faithful to complete it .(even if we get in the way....PRAIS E GOD.HAHAHA |

I have been listening to Commissioned since I was 13. Now at the age of 32 I am still just as in love with them as I was when I was 13. I can't adequately explain how their music touches my heart. So many of their songs seem to speak directly to me, like they took parts of my life and put them into song. Even with the many Gospel artists we have today, Commissioned is the only group's CD that I will still buy without having to hear one song. I love them.
