The Countdown Singers
Selected Discography
OMG. You can really tell these guys are not the real thing. Did you hear "Ring my Bell" the singing is so off key. WOW it's even worse than the original. Would not recommend!!!

This is the WORST cover tunes i've ever heard in my LIFE!!!! So much so, that me my husband and son listen every day and night just to get a GOOOOOOD laugh. This stuff is hilarious. COUNTDOWN SINGERS PLEASE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! LOL

The countdown singers are nothing but bad covers to be sold on cheap compilations to avoid half of the licensing fees (they still have to pay the songwriter but not the label that holds the rights to the recording.) Many of their recordings are quite bad, so much so that they can be funny if one can get over the letdown of not hearing their favorite legendary recordings.. .

When I said Johnny Cash, I had no idea I'd get everyone-els e - o n - e a r t h ' s version of the songs he made famous. Weird.
Killing Me softly, horrible, hilarious, I hope I don't have to hear this version anymore. This does bring up a good point, When crap like this is thumbed down, does that mean we won't hear the ones we want to anymore. I know If you thumb the same artist down twice they won't be played on your station anymore. Watching that video about the way the genome picks songs makes me wonder about this.

Poor attempts at sound-alike recording for cheaper licensing for inexpensive compilations sold in drug-store chains as last-minute Christmas presents. Do not want!
...why do they copy every single word from the original, including the intro convo...i find that extremely unnecessary and annoying
Not a fan. I would appreciate never hearing the JC cover again, but I don't want to thumbs-down it: I expect it would prevent me fromhearing the excellent original!
Please do not play this anymore. |
I do not have any problems with people doing covers of other artists' songs. I only ask that you actually try to bring yourself to it. When people like this group try to mimick the original songs it will fall short most of the time.
wow - what the hell is this?!? no wonder the artist does not want to be listed - this is awful! I would give it a "thumbs down", but do not want to risk missing versions by legitimate artists.
come on, seriously??? ? This is a horrendous remake. Usually, I am in favor of artists covering songs in with their own unique style or twist...this is just a really BAD karoke version. No more, please.
THIS SURE AS HELL IS NOT THE ORIGINAL ARTIST OR SINGER OF THIS SONG WITCH BY THE WAY IS ANITA WARD IF YOU CAN NOT PLAY ORIGINAL SONGS PLEASE DO NOT PLAY ANY THIS SUCKS DONKEY A** AND IS BULLSHIT PLAY A REAL SONG !!

From Wikipedia:
Most reviewers have panned their albums, with Allmusic using terms like "unlistenabl e " and "horrific". AMG Music critic, Jason Birchmeier, says on several reviews that "...never do these songs compare to the original versions, sounding instead somewhat cheap and kitschy". Bradley Torreano says that The Countdown Singers are "...a group of session musicians who ape any sort of music that they need to. This can be incredibly effective at some moments, and hilariously bad at others" |

give me a break does anybody try to copy JESUS? NO!! so don't try to copy the man in black
I hope if I thumbs down their version of Ring of Fire that I'll still be able to hear the Johnny Cash original, which rocks.
if you are going to play new artists play their work please, usually nothing compares to the original
I really want to hear this song (He stopped loving her today) by George Jones
The Countdown Singers are not my thing. They make a good attempt to cover the original artists, but fall short. is there a way to block this group from showing up on any of my stations?
