Biography
Emo-leaning and volatile post-hardcore outfit Dance Gavin Dance, somewhat similar to peers Chiodos and the Fall of Troy, feature former members of Farewell Unknown and Ghost Runner on Third, two alums of Seattle's Less Avenged Records. The Sacramento crew is comprised of vocalists Jonny Craig (singing) and Jonathan Mess (screaming), guitarists Will Swan and Sean O'Sullivan, bassist Eric Lodge, and drummer Matt Mingus. The sextet hooked up with Rise Records in late summer 2006 and debuted that November with the EP Whatever I Say Is Royal Ocean. ~ Corey Apar, All Music Guide

yeah this needs an update.
Kurt Travis is the new clean vox, and Will something (used to be guitar) is screaming now. Downtown Battle Mountain was their best by far, but Happiness and their self titled discs have a good handful of great songs to. |

johnny craig- lead singer is in Emarosa. no screaming. i like both bands but emarosa really shows off Johnny's ability. listen to it. be amazed

seriously this band is blah..sounds a little like a thursday influence w/the whole high voice vocalist w/the screecher and a twist of thrice..i dont about this s**t..the drummin and beats are a little anoyin..soun d s like the drummer has solos throught the whole damn songs..maybe i just dont get this typ of music...i want a band that has something to say

I agree with Charley.
I love the music, lyrics and main singer - but the screaming guy is just annoying. Maybe in smaller doses it would add something, but it overwhelms everything else. |

kurt sucks on balls in his spare time. he ruined the band they have gone all soft, johnny was a unique sound and now with mr. mess gone we got big samoan dude screaming... w h i c h no offense to him it shouldnt be in his job description, emarosa is so boring now, jonnhy whent good with with all the crazy s**t from dgd, but with emarosa its just boring, his voice is still amazing but im bored while listening, not that any one cares. i heard kurt sing for dgd, it was horrible it was like going to so

Kurt is just as good as Johnny in my opinion. I honestly think Kurt has a wider range then Johnny and he can sing the songs just as good. I saw them live and Kurt was great. A cool guy too.

johnny was only good in dgd. Emarosa is a garbage band now that johnny is there. His voice is good but all he does is ruin bands. One by being kicked out of dgd and two by joining emarosa
