Darude
Biography
Finnish DJ/Producer Darude (born Ville Virtanen) started experimenting with music and DJing while still attending school, adopting the nickname of "the Rude" (later Darude) after Swedish rap star Leila K.'s "Rude Boy."
Producer Jaakko Salovaara (aka JS 16), founder of the independent label 16 Inch, teamed up with him to release his first single, called "Sandstorm." British Neo-Record became involved in the newcomer project soon after. In June 2000, Darude achieved the status of chart-topping artist in the U.K. Around the same time, Ville Virtanen successfully performed on the BBC Top of the Pops show, bringing forth the release of his debut album titled Before the Storm. ~ Drago Bonacich, All Music Guide

So true suomelar. Actually, I would paraphrase it this way: "if you go nutts when hearing this song, you must be dead!" :)

sandstorm is one of my favorite techno songs. if u don't like this stuff, u need to b shot. seriously. it's basic but it's great. like the original better than the remix though

if you're trying to promote another band, dont start off with a string of profanity and hate.
~~~ this is an artist, jackass. ~~~ i'd say something grumpily positive about the band, but i'm not in a good enough mood. pretend there's some generic comment here about how this band is decent. |
f**k this s**t
its to normal and wayyy to easy to make it involves no skill whatsoever what the f**k if u wana hear good electronica look up ed banger records |
GREATEST RAVE SONG EVER!!!!!!!! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
I FRIGGEN LOVE IT, AND I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE ELSE HAS TO SAY ABOUT IT!! |
Daurde's new stuff is nothing like his old stuff. Yeah it was really poppy, but that's what made him who he is. The vocal s**t is not Darude, it just f**ks up the beauty of the beats.
It's not exactly techno or trance. Sounds a tad bit mainstream, I like a well defined beat and little or no vocals.
This is a most awesome tune. Not sure what previous posts & this tune have to do w/religion. just enjoy. btw on youtube, there are a few vid's to this tune, especially worth checking out are the Viking guy & the XMas vid's. Jet Li looks good also. Zombie Nation also good stuff.
I remember the first time i heard sandstorm was back in 2001, I found it by total accident. I was looking for Zombie Nation and I found a song called Zombie Nation vs. Sandstorm, if you got the time, try to find that song, its what really got me into techno/tranc e
ive heard this b4 but i wonder how many times the title "sandstorm" has been used?
i gess he died on the technicolor cross :) |
Lol i know everyone has made a million comments but yeah christian dance music Lolz son. Jesus christ died for our sins not raved for our sinz.
Christian dance music? thats a joke. For me, Christian rock was kind of the line, and I was ok with it. But otherwise: seriously? I mean, its like saying "Oh, lets create Muslim rock music!" or Buddhist rap.
I don't like this version- having the woman speak over the top of the music ruins the effect. And I think she is annoying. :o
The only song of Darude's that I don't like is Darude Sandstorm. It's got this annoying woman yeling about getting in the pool with her, it's f**king annoying and it detracts from the song. Darude should not try adding vocal samples in his songs to make a party atomsphere, he should not use vocal samples at all. Leave vocal samples to guys like the Crystal Method and Future Sound of London. IDM and big beat are better for stuff like that.
Darude has the ability to convey longing with only synths, that's amazing, since most electronica is emotionally deviod.
This guy kicks massive ammounts of a**, I had to run out and buy "Rush" and "Before The Storm" as soon as I heard Sandstorm.
